Despite the huge growth in the use of the internet over the last five years CD-ROM and DVD-ROM are still viable media for the delivery of technical information. Remember, there are still many people you want to reach who do not have broadband access, or cannot spare an hour to download hundreds of megabytes of data.
CD-ROM and DVD-ROM have other major benefits: they keep all the information in one place: there are no disappearing documents on web sites which change between visits, an important consideration if the documents form part of someone's project information; they give your products or services a physical presence on the desk or in the library - your information is not just a bookmark buried in a browser.
